Strengthening China-Africa Agricultural Ties: The DRC Minister of Agriculture Visits Galleon Pump

The Minister of Agriculture of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and his delegation visited Canon Pumps to promote a new chapter in China-Africa agricultural cooperation.
On June 14, 2025, Changsha, China - His Excellency Gregoire Muteshail Mutombu, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security of the Democratic Republic of Congo (hereinafter referred to as  "Congo"),  led a delegation to visit Changsha Galleon General Pump Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Galleon Pump") after attending the 4th China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo. Ms. Wu Min, a specially appointed expert of the Hunan Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade, accompanied the visit. Mr. Luo You, General Manager of Galleon Pump", expressed his sincere gratitude to the Minister for taking the time out of his busy schedule to visit, and received him together with Deputy General Manager Ms. Luo Xiao, General Manager of ShinKa, a subsidiary, Teng Kun, Technical Consultant Zhou Yunfu, Minister of Foreign Trade Meng Guangyao, Senior Consultant Yi Ming and other company executives. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on cooperation in agricultural irrigation technology and equipment, and signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

Its products are widely used in mine drainage, agricultural irrigation, water conservancy projects and other fields. During the visit, the company focused on introducing its core technologies and solutions in large-scale agricultural irrigation projects to the delegation, including high-efficiency and energy-saving water pumps, customised system design and one-stop service capabilities. Subsidiary Galleon Pump Manufacturing demonstrated the flexible application of small self-priming pumps in farmland irrigation. At the same time, Xiangjia Intelligent Manufacturing shared the innovative achievements of its original agricultural machinery (such as sprinklers and tillage machines), which have performed well in improving operating efficiency and reducing energy consumption.

His Excellency M. Grégoire Mutshaile Mutomb, Minister of Agriculture of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, highly praised Canon Pump's technical strength and product diversity, and especially recognised its customisation capabilities for complex working conditions. He said that the Democratic Republic of the Congo is actively promoting agricultural modernisation and looks forward to deepening cooperation with Galleon Pump in the fields of irrigation system upgrades, agricultural machinery promotion and technical training, so as to improve the efficiency of agricultural production in Africa jointly.
